Splintered
These last few days (maybe weeks) have proven to be almost too much for my simple brain. I even forgot to “post” yesterday’s blog (look below, it is a new post, I wrote it yesterday, but forgot to “publish”).
Things, in general, seem fine on the surface, but as always, most around me have no clue as to what I think or how I feel. I feel like I’m splintered into 4 pieces. I need some super-glue to put myself back together again.

Even flickr (site i put photo files for this blog) is giving me a headache by dulling the colors of this photo…. figures
I’m sick of all of this. I’m reevaluating why the hell I’m even here.
Bahasa Indonesia Lesson for Today:
Bete (slang term): bored, upset, “blah” feeling, etc etc etc
Even my Mocha frappucino sucks today. And yes, I know the picture is backwards (it wasn’t when loaded to Flickr, damn them)!
Blood-sucking Vampires!
I’m covered in mosquito bites! I’m so sick of these pesky pests! Why is it mosquitos hardly ever go after my friends, yet constantly bombard me like micro-sized bombers!

Mosquito: “Umm! He must taste like mocha! Bite him!”
Yesterday, I went to Bogor Adventure Valley with a church group and an orphanage to get photos and article material. My goal was to write an interesting, captivating article about the orphans and the orphanage so they can get more financial and material support. Two friends went with me. One friend is a fellow photographer. The other friend happens to be a magazine writer. I was hoping friend #2 would be able to do the fact finding (which she did NOT do, grrr) while I focused on the photography.
I got the photos I wanted, albeit not all I wanted. Today I woke with sore arms! Why? TWO REASONS!
1. Mosquitos ate me alive!
2. I was swinging my hands and camera around trying to fend off those disease-carrying, blood drinking critters!
*~ DAMN THEM! ~*

Things Are In Motion
Hello,
Yes, I’m still alive! It’s been quite busy these last couple of weeks. I’ve been busy with even more corporate classes, but I’ve been even more busy with photography related items:
- I’ve designed new business cards!

- I’ve booked my first Glamour Photo shoot for this weekend
- I’ve arranged a photojournalism trip with a good friend who works for the Ministry of Health to the less seen areas of Kalimantan
- I’m preparing for negotiations with a orphanage for an article
- I’ve added a wonderfully big, collapsable reflector to my photographic arsenal
- I’ve FINALLY opened a bank account that allows separation of personal banking and business related transactions.
- I’ve begun the redesign of www.BeyondExposures.com (which currently points to my temporary photography site: take a look!)
- I’m almost finished creating packages/pricing for Glamour and Pre-Wedding photography (a way to earn money while pursuing my true interests: cultural, humanitarian and special interests photojournalism)

Sometimes, one may be “Nganggur” (Indonesian term meaning “Idle” or “Having nothing to do”). She is in no hurry to depart. Her sandals are discarded. Her arms and feet are comfortably crossed. Her fairly new motorcycle is safely propped on its stand behind the decrepit, yet functional, makeshift bench made from cast off cuts of wood. She was lost in deep thought, until being rudely awaken by my unexpected intrusion.
Many individuals can be found in an nganggur state along the roads, allowing time to quietly pass by while assuming squat positions. I’m told this squat position is quite relaxing. Maybe this is why she chooses this position even on top of this conventional, albeit basic, seat.
